Could It Be An Exit For Chelsea Star?
From being considered untouchable by Chelsea FC board in 2021 to facing contract renewal challenge today. In October 2022 Chelsea head coach Graham Potter and Chelsea FC board were on the same page on extending Mason Mount's contract as his current contract is expected to expire in 2024. His contract has been in discussion alongside many former and current Chelsea players including N'golo Kante, Azpilicueta Jorginho - who left to join Arsenal in January 2023- and Marcos Alonso who joined Real Madrid in summer of 2022.
The latest reports from the club and player's side is that there is still a big gap in negotiations between Chelsea and Mason Mount, as new deal is again far from being reached as per Fabrizio Romano. No final decision yet but chances of Mason Mount leaving the club are increasing.
It is also important to note that he will be on the market if new deal is not agreed before summer.
Talks of Mason Mount demanding £300 000-a-week isn't true but he has turned down some offers which are certainly in the region of what his counterpart Reece James has been given, but has been complicated by things like image rights, bonuses and contract length. Chelsea are willing to offer him upto 7-years contract as per Absolute Chelsea.
Mason Mount has been linked with England top clubs including Liverpool who really appreciate him alongside Manchester United.
